Top 10 Places to Kiss on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Virginia Tech chapter.

Ever wanted to kiss a guy on campus but just didn’t know the right place to take him? We all walk around this campus through all hours of the day and don’t take advantage of the sheer beauty Virginia Tech has to offer. Whether you’re looking to be romantic or just have a quick hook up, these are the top 10 places to work your magic when the time is right!

10.  Deet’s Place: Everyone loves the atmosphere Deet’s Place has to offer along with the tasty treats and beverages they sell to keep us satisfied. Take someone here and share a cup of coffee, conversation, and a smooch while you’re at it.

9. Burruss Auditorium: While Burruss holds some of the largest classes Virginia Tech has to offer and the best concerts to get your groove on to,  this vintage auditorium is also great to set the mood for a little love action. The dim lights and older design sets a nice, romantic mood for you and your special someone.

8. Drillfield: We all dread the Drillfield during class change or on a windy day, but the view the drillfield has to offer is absolutely gorgeous at night. Whether it be on a blanket under a tree, sitting on a bench, or laying under one of the lights, you get an amazing view of each and every star in the night sky. It can be as exclusive or as public as you’d like to make it, but that choice is up to you.

 7. Torgerson Bridge: Who knew Torgerson Bridge could be so pretty? I know this is a place a lot of students go to study, but at night the lights inside give the bridge such a cozy feel. Take someone here for a “study date” and see where things just might go.

6. Underpass between Price and Sandy Hall: Located in Aq. Quad, a lot of students don’t recognize the mini-walkway connecting these two buildings, but this area provides a great place to view the beauty of the flowers and architecture of Virginia Tech while also having some privacy since this path isn’t taken very often. The flowers and sunlight make this area look like a scene straight out of a movie.

5. Newman Library: Ok, we’ve all seen this in a show or movie at some point in our lives. Whether it be the floor nobody uses or in the “romance stacks” a lot of people have fantasized about hooking up in a library; so why not Newman? While the third and fifth floors are “quiet floors”, there are plenty of places to squeeze in a little action.

4. Memorial Court (The Pylons): Sit on the ledge of the court overlooking the Drillfield at sunset and you’ll know exactly why this is in the top 5.  You truly capture the beauty of Virginia Tech’s campus while snuggled up under your guys arm. Not to mention, the lighting is perfect for snapping a great picture of the two of you.

3. Horticulture Garden: I think this one is pretty self explanatory if you’re looking for a nice romantic getaway on campus. Gazebos and benches are placed all around the garden and provide you areas of shade, relaxation and privacy. The garden is absolutely beautiful in the spring when the flowers are blooming and the weather is nice. The whole entire area has such a relaxing and serene feel to it.

2. Duck Pond:
This is the perfect place to take someone for a picnic, a nice walk, or just to relax while looking at the prettiest place on campus. The duck pond has so much to offer. The water is gorgeous especially when all the ducks decide to go for a swim. If you’ve never been, you definitely need to check it out. Forget about the rumor that if you take a boy there you’re going to marry them. Have fun and enjoy your time there. You’ll never forget it.

1. Lane Stadium: There is no doubt that Virginia Tech students love their football, so we couldn’t forget to include the most popular place on campus. Lane Stadium is loud during football games but quieter than ever at night. If you can get to the top do it, because the view is amazing and there’s no greater rush.  This is the home of a true Hokie, so climb on up and share the moment with someone overlooking the place we all know and love.  I recommend West End Zone where the flags are, but the whole field is a spectacular place to be.
