The Ultimate Workout Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Virginia Tech chapter.

Spring is HERE, which means that bikini season is right around the corner.  All winter long, as I miserably shuffled my way across the wind tunnel that we refer to as the Drillfield, I kept imaging myself rocking my bath suit while relaxing at the pool and beach.  Alas, if you are like me, a few gym visits will be quite helpful in making your body toned and 100% ready for this much-anticipated season.

Recent studies show that exercising to upbeat/fast paced music can help you work out for a longer duration of time and at a higher intensity, causing you to burn more calories.  Now who doesn’t like the sound of that?

Here is a list of songs that you can rock out to in the gym to keep that heart rate up and your adrenaline pumping:

*“Club Can’t Handle Me” by Flo Rida Feat. David Guetta
*“B.O.B” by Outkast
*“On The Floor” by Jennifer Lopez Feat. Pitbull
*“Jerk It Out” by Caesars
*“It Was You (OMG)” by Far East Movement Feat. Snoop Dogg
*“US State of Pop 2009” by DJ Earthworm
*“Till The World Ends” by Britney Spears
*“Holla Hey” by Far East Movement
*“Angel” by Akon
*“XXXO (Remix)” by MIA Feat. Jay-Z
*“Shut Up and Let Me Go” by The Ting Tings

I hope these songs can add a little more “umph” to everyone’s workout, whether to get you out of the rut of your same old playlist or to motivate you to get to the gym to give these songs a try.
