Paint Splatter Sneakers

holidayseasonlive.com

Have a pair of old sneakers around in need of some TLC? Instead of throwing them away because of those scuff marks and wear, update them with a little splatter of color.

Materials:

Old sneakers

Tape

Paintbrush

Water

Acrylic paint (colors of your choice)

How-To:

1.     Tape off parts of sneaker you don’t want splattered

2.     Mix acrylic paint with water to make it thinner, so that its easier to use

3.     Dip paintbrush in paint and flick bristles about a foot away for splatter effect (experiment with different distances for various effects)

4.     Try layering different colors for a vibrant style, use a specific color palette to match your wardrobe, or pick a single color to stay monochromatic.

5.     Let dry, then you’re ready to wear!

Studded Jean Jacket

If you’re feeling that your wardrobe is lacking some edge, or even just a little embellishment, studs are a great accent to any jean, shirt, or in this case, jacket.

Materials:

Jacket

Studs (w/ prongs)

How-To:

1.     Figure out design you want for studs (ex. Shoulders, pockets, lapel)

2.     Poke two holes the same distance apart as prongs on stud

3.     Insert stud and bend prongs to secure it into fabric

4.     Repeat for the rest of your design
