As Tailgate season wraps up and comes to an end, the classic game day outfits are hung back in the closet, to save for the next season or maybe even a bowl game if we’re lucky. One of my favorite parts of a Wake Forest Game day is getting dressed up with my friends, and seeing all the stellar game day outfits and trends of the season! Here are five of my favorites that never go out of style!
What would a game day be without everyone’s shoe of choice- Cowboy Boots! I love how versatile they are because you can wear them with literally anything- a sundress, jean shorts, or a skirt. A girl can never have too many cowboy boots, especially if she goes to school in the south! You can always stick with a classic brown boot, or if you’re feeling adventurous, I love a brightly colored pair with a neutral outfit.Â
Another one of my favorite game day favorites is a good classic pair of black leather pants. Especially as it gets colder for our next couple of games, this is a great option that’ll keep you warm while being stylish. They’re super flattering and would be perfect for the blackout-themed game next weekend against Chapel Hill! I like wearing mine with a bodysuit or layering with a cozy sweater to cheer on the Deacs!
Another popular game-day outfit is a matching set. An all-black matching set makes you instantly look put together when paired with some gold jewelry and cute sneakers. My roommate got the cutest one from free people and it’s so cute while also comfortable. It also looks great in pics and can easily be accessorized with a cute purse too!
This accessory is less mainstream but I’ve been on the hunt for a stadium-approved clear purse to put things like my phone, sunglasses, and other game-day essentials in. It’s easy to find cheap, clear purses on amazon, and one thing that’s a great addition is a custom beaded purse strap that supports the Deacs. It’s also a great gift for anyone that’s college-aged too!
My last game-day favorite is a leather jacket. It’s great for layering with jeans, a dress, or a set as it gets cooler this fall. It’s also the perfect accessory to tie your outfit together and is a good staple in your closet year-round.
