Luke Williams (’15)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Name: Luke Williams (’15)

Potential major: History

Career goal: History professor and/or basketball or football coach

Relationship status: Single and ready to mingle!

Sign: Scorpio

Luke carries on a family tradition of going to Wake Forest after his grandfather and mother both attended Wake. He’s a proud Screamin’ Deamon and a huge sports fanatic. Ladies, if you want to get to know Luke, brush up on your sports trivia because a girl that doesn’t know her sports doesn’t have a chance with Luke!

Her Campus (HC): What are you involved with on campus?
Luke Williams (LW): I’m a Screamin’ Deamon and am planning on painting myself for the Florida State game, so Go Deacs! I also do flag football, which is surprisingly competitive—it’s like playing high school football without pads.

HC: Do you have any nicknames?
LC: “Luke Skywalker,” although I’m not a big fan of the Star Wars movies.

HC: Favorite food?
LW: Chicken parmesan.

HC: Does your mother have a special homemade recipe?
LW: No, there’s this great restaurant back home called Lapiaza. They have my favorite chicken parm.

HC: What’s your favorite kind of music?
LW: I like it all—from hip-hop to country. I’m from the South, so you have to like country. Also, this past weekend I went with some friends to a Bassnectar concert in Charlotte. The electronic dubstep was a whole new world of music for me. I didn’t know that kind of music existed until I came to Wake, but the concert was awesome.

HC: Favorite thing (so far) on campus?
LW: The Barn or athletic events.

HC: What are you looking forward to the most during your 4 years at Wake?
LW: Having fun! I applied early decision and got in. My grandfather and my mom went to Wake, so I loved it from the beginning. I am continuing the family legacy.

HC: What’s a random fact about you?
LW: I’m really good at Guitar Hero, but I can’t play the guitar. Also, I have a remarkable amount of knowledge for sports like football, basketball and soccer.

HC: Who are your celebrity crushes?
LW: Emma Watson … before she cut her hair. Kiera Knightly in Pirates of the Caribbean, Mila Kunis, and that girl from Red Riding Hood and Mama Mia.

HC: Amanda Seyfried?
LW: Yeah, she’s hot.

HC: Favorite movie(s)?
LW: The Shinning and The Breakfast Club. I like all kinds of movies.

HC: Biggest pet peeve?
LW: When people can’t carry on a conversation.  You know that awkward silence? Or when people spit.

HC: What do you look for in a girl?
LW: Teeth and legs … and a good personality. They gotta’ smell good too.

HC: What’s your go-to outfit?
LW: Jeans and a collared shirt.

HC: What do you prefer on a girl: dresses, skirts or jeans?
LW: All three.  It depends on how they carry themselves.

HC: What do you value more in a girl, comic relief or an intellectual conversation?
LW: Comic relief.  You need to be able to laugh and have fun.

HC: Ideal date?
LW: Dinner and a movie.

HC: What do you do in your free time?
LW: Well, everybody on my hall is really close so we usually hang out and play Fifa or ride around Winston and just hang out.

HC: Would you rather hit the gym or hit the books?
LW: Hit the gym, but I don’t hit it as much as I should. After doing work all day I usually just want to relax.

HC: Do you prefer to watch or play sports?
LW: That’s a tough question. I guess now that I am in college I would rather watch college sports. In high school, however, I would have rather played sports than watch them.

HC: How would you rather spend your Saturday nights: staying in and watching a movie or going out and meeting new people?
LW: Going out!

HC: How are you adjusting to Wake?
LW: Wake’s very rigorous (Wake was recently ranked the number 13th most rigorous school), so there’s a lot more work than I did in high school, but in terms of class sizes, it’s similar to high school.

HC: How do you like college girls in comparison to high school girls?
LW: College girls are a lot easier to talk to and carry themselves better than high school girls do. I think they have more confidence.
