One Month Left: The Final Countdown

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

While it may seem like this semester started just yesterday, it’s just about over! With only one month left ‘til we pack up our rooms and depart for summer (with maybe a little Dirty Myrtle in between), it’s exhausting just thinking about everything going on between now and then.

Bottom line: the next four weekends are packed. Between Carolina Cup, Beach Weekends, Easter, and formals galore, there’s hardly a single free night! And if that isn’t overwhelming enough, the weekdays are filled with concerts, Derby Days, group projects, baseball games, philanthropy events  . . . is it really possible to make time for friends, fun and still get our work done?!

Planning is key. Use both Friday and Sunday afternoons to buckle down and get your work done. That way, the main part of your weekend is free for the taking. Schedule lunch and dinner dates to make sure you get to spend time with all your friends (especially seniors!) before the oh-so-sweet summer break.
Try to eliminate the procrastination. We’re all pros at putting off work, but if you want to have fun sans stress, you are going to have to cut your nightly Facebook marathons.

It’s easy to get carried away and forget about the must-dos. So grab your planner and plan out the next four weeks of your life. Plan the fun stuff, but don’t forget to plan for the not-so-fun as well (doesn’t it seem like every class has a paper or project due in the next two weeks?!). So don’t save a 10-page paper for the night before it’s due (while your friends enjoy the Sara Bareilles concert). And on the other hand, don’t spend all these beautiful afternoons holed-up in the library, only to suddenly realize that you’ve missed a month full of fun. Balance is key. And for the next four weeks, balance will be the key to your survival!

Writing has also acted as her outlet to dabble in subjects far beyond her my intellectual capacity: art, culture, design, fashion, photography, and music.
