In a year and a half, everything has changed,
such changes could not be explained,
I couldn’t believe what had happened in a year and a half.
Â
The friends I knew who could waste a fair amount of time,
couldn’t go and meet me because they couldn’t waste a single dime,
maybe they lost interest after a year and a half.
Â
The friends who were willing to meet me,
had an 11 pm curfew and had to flee,
midnight talks aren’t possible anymore after a year and a half.
Â
The talks we have turned into distant conversations,
maybe because we aren’t experiencing the same situations,
We have long pauses now after a year and a half.
Â
They talk about other people I’ve never met,
Casting me under their silhouette,
I couldn’t believe I have nothing to talk about after a year and a half.
Â
Then we see the same spot we used to sit,
the same spot where we talked about a lot of shit,
I can’t believe we’re sitting here again after a year and a half.
Â
We talk about old memories I almost forgot,
like how I couldn’t meet you guys on the dot,
I can’t believe we’re talking about this after a year and a half.
Â
We talk about our feelings as if everything’s the same,
we also talk about the future and the goals we aim,
We can still talk about the past, present, future after a year and a half.
Â
the sun already set and the sky almost turned midnight black,
you guys asked, “when will we meet again, when will you come back?”
“I’ll be back again after a year and a half.”
Â
We all waved goodbye and said we’ll keep in touch,
I know we might be busy and we don’t have time as such,
yet I know one message would suffice even after a year and a half.
