5 Fun Fashion Blogs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

While high fashion magazines are a great way to check out the latest trends, the stick-thin models and costly designer dandies can feel stiff and unrelatable, because honestly – who can afford that stuff?! Enter fashion blogs: a great window into a real woman’s fashionable life. Each blogger has a unique point of view and a unique style, which makes it easy for any girl to find a site that she can connect to and feel inspired by. Here are some great blogs to help make fashion in St. Louis fun.

1. If you want to see more than just clothing trends… TrendLand features style info on a variety of categories including fashion, art, photography, and music. There are also posts from cities and countries around the world, so you can jetset across the globe to see exotic trends without ever leaving your dorm room.

2. If you want high-fashion… FashionToast is the blog by the stunning Rumi Neely, who became famous by featuring photos of herself in edgy, high fashion outfits before she was nationally recognized and picked up by Nowmanifest.com. From spiked jewelry and chunky heels to flowy dresses and delicate blouses, Rumi can pull off just about anything. I am pretty much addicted to Fashion Toast.

3. If you’re feeling young and hip… SomethingNavy is run by Arielle, a young, fashionable brunette living in New York City. Her style is relaxed, youthful, and chic. Despite her front-row seats at New York Fashion Week and her impressive connections, she’s relatable and down to earth… though you’ll still see want to see life through her rose-colored glasses, because frankly, her life is more interesting.

4. If you want real college girls like you and me… CollegeFashionista features pages from almost 300 schools, all written by college students who have both a passion and an eye for fashion. Writers highlight fashionable students on campus, complete with photographs and explanations of the looks. Not only is it fun to look at your own school and recognize your fashion forward peers, but it’s also interesting to see style trends from other schools.

5. If you want celebrities… WhoWhatWear gives you the lowdown on what the stars are wearing both on, and off, the red carpet. With lots of pictures of celebs and must-have clothing, this site is fun to browse through whenever you’re craving some celebrity eye candy, or for when you just need a little pick-me-up in the form of Ryan Gosling. (We’ve all been there).
