Chris Brenner 2013

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

What qualities do you envision for your perfect husband? Dreams of being a doctor? Family values? An appreciation for cheap Chinese food? Collegiettes, your prayers have been answered with this week’s Campus Cutie, Chris Brenner. He’ll sing you Spanish lullabies and no, you don’t have to worry about him getting his ears pierced. Read on to find out how you can win his heart (hint: stock up on Keebler shortbread cookies).

Hometown?St. Louis, MO.
Nick name?Bren-dog.
Your middle name? James.
Studying?Major in Biology and minors in Spanish and Econ.
Where do you live?Millbrook 4.
Activities on campus?Sig Nu fraternity. I would have played club tennis this year but I got carpal tunnel. I was playing tennis once or twice a day during the summer because I wanted to play club this year.
Relationship status? Single.
Do you ever get tired of St. Louis?Yeah, all the time! I definitely don’t want to go medical school here.
When does it stop being socially acceptable to DFMO?Never (laughs). After freshmen year, I guess, but I still see people our age doing it.
What do people from the East and West coasts under-appreciate about St. Louis? The food – St. Louis has great food.
Ted Drewes or Mr. Wizards?Mr. Wizards. I never heard of it until last year but it is ten times better than Ted Drewes. The ice cream is better. I get vanilla with sprinkles.
Hotdogs or hamburgers?Hamburgers with all the fixings – ketchup, mustard, everything.
Strangest thing you’ve seen in the library? The people in the green skin body suits who crawl around during finals.
Would you be more likely to get a piercing or a tattoo? Tattoo. Oh god, a piercing sounds awful!
What was it like coming from an all boys’ high school? It was actually crazy different. The whole mentality – people in high school would always say whatever was on their mind. (Chris went to the Saint Louis Priory School)
Your favorite snack?Keebler shortbread cookies.
What is your ideal job? Aneonatologist, who doesn’t deliver babies like an OB-GYN does, but specializes in premature babies and newborn infants. I’ve wanted to be a doctor forever.
If you could drive any car in the world, what kind of car would it be? I would drive a McLaren F1. It is super expensive and it drives so fast. I know I would crash it.
Favorite Cardinals player? Yadier Molina, the catcher.
Any siblings? I have a younger sister and two older brothers.
Favorite St. Louis restaurant? I really like this place called “Emperor’s Palace,” in the valley. It’s an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet. It even has a chocolate fountain.
Do you have a “type?” Petite, definitely brunette. If I like a girl, I like her regardless, but I guess that would be my type.
Tell me your study tips. I procrastinate but I always leave enough time to get an assignment done. For example, I had a Spanish paper due today. I knew it was going to take me four hours to do the reading and then four hours to write, so I woke up at 4 am this morning so I could have it done by noon.

If you didn’t get enough from this interview, you can find Chris most weekday mornings doing research on diabetes at the cardiovascular lab at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
