Rent the Runway at WashU!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

It’s the day before semi-formal, and you’re racing to the Galleria to try to find a great, one-of-a-kind, not too expensive dress… that no one else will have. Sound familiar? Well, chances are, given the limited options of St. Louis shopping (let’s face it, we just got a Nordstrom like, last year) you’re bound to show up wearing the same dress as at least one of your friends.

Fashionable formal goers of WashU, meet your new best friend of the fast approaching semi-formal/Linus season. Rent the Runway is an online company that allows you to rent an entire outfit – the dress, handbag, and accessories (hello, vintage Chanel) – for just 10-15% of the retail price. You pick the date and the sizes (they send you two for no additional charge), and you get to hold on to the dress for 4-8 days.

With over 160 designers to choose from, Rent the Runway is an easy fashion fix. And don’t stress if someone spills their drink all over the back of your designer dress – RTR takes care of the dry-cleaning for you! At the end of the rental period, just drop the pre-paid envelope in any mailbox.

From Herve Leger to Versace, Rent the Runway offers your college budget a break and gives you a stunning dress at the same time. Let’s face it, no one wants to wear the same dress twice, and now… you don’t have to!
