Meet Sam Van Doren, a St. Louis native and transfer student from Trinity College. Sam, also known as Svd, is truly a Renaissance man – he plays football, tells great stories, knows how to ballroom dance, and loves animals. Rumor has it he even adopted a snow leopard! If you think that sounds extravagant…well, I’d have to agree. When he’s not tackling people on and off the football field, you can find this social butterfly surrounded by his Sigma Chi brothers in the DUC or walking around campus to the beat of “Halo.” If you’re looking for a hilarious, fun loving guy who’s somehow managed to turn his brutal honesty into a charming asset, look no further than this week’s campus cutie.
Name: Sam Van Doren.

Least favorite animal: Snakes. I’m afraid of them.
Favorite place in St. Louis? My house so I can see my dog Bert.
Do you have any hobbies? I occasionally like to break a mental sweat.
What about secret talents? I’m a great storyteller! And I’ve dabbled in ballroom dancing.

Celebrity girl crush: Marissa Miller from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Celebrity boy crush: Johnny Manziel.
Blondes or brunettes? Can I say both?
What qualities do you look for in a girl? Looks wise – nice smile. And teeth. Well, that sounds weird. I mean they don’t have to be perfect…but preferably no snaggletooths. Wait, don’t put that in there! Why are you still typing?!

What’s your biggest turnoff? Bossy, demanding, takes herself too seriously…
Do you have a theme song? Halo by Beyonce.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Flying. That would be sweet.
Describe your dream date. This interview. Does that count as a date?
