Maldives, Iceland, Singapore,… The list goes on of places I wish to travel to but just can’t because (1) COVID-19 is prevalent and dangerous (*Please wear masks to protect yourselves and others around you!*) and (2) my college tuition budget has unfortunately made my travel budget nonexistent.  If you can relate, here are a few series on Netflix that can take care of that itch to travel, ranked by IMDB rating:

5. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

IMDB: 6.8/10

From Canada to Cambodia, Chef David Chang (also starring in Ugly Delicious) explores different cultures and indulges in the food the locale has to offer alongside celebrity guests. This 4-episode show is a great combination of food exploration and interviews of some of your favorite celebs.

4. The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes

IMDB: 7/10

Real estate developer and actor Caroline Quentin and architect Piers Taylor provide insight to magnificent homes, ranging vastly in size, layout and location. This show is perfect for those who enjoy architectural design and for those who just want to ooh and aah at luxurious homes.

3. Street Food, Street Food: Latin America

IMDB: 8/10

Street Food has two installments, one in Asia and one in Latin America. As its title reveals, this show revolves around the culture of street food in different regions, capturing the day-to-day lifestyle of the locals. If you’re someone who doesn’t like to try the tourist-populated eateries when traveling, this show will provide insight on finding the hidden local gems that tourists don’t know about (until they watch this show).

2. Down to Earth with Zac Efron

IMDB: 8.1/10

Zac Efron travels to different parts of the world in pursuit of more sustainable and eco-friendly ways of life with health expert Darin Olien. This show highlights the natural beauties of the world, while also educating its audience on ways we can grow as a society to support the environment.

1. Our Planet

IMDB: 9.3/10

This series takes its audience on a breath-taking tour of Earth’s diverse and beautiful nature. Similar to Down to Earth, this show discusses climate change through its focus on wildlife and animals, wonderful for anyone who just wants to gaze at Earth’s attractions.
