Taylor Docking, Class of 2014

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

Do you like The Great Gatsby? The steak and gnocchi at Ibby’s? The occasional iced coffee with a shot of hazelnut? For your sake, I hope you answered yes, because then you have things in common with this week’s Campus Cutie! Meet Taylor Docking, the almost golden child of his family. And if you don’t think Taylor Docking is cute, then you probably don’t have a pulse.

Grade? Sophomore.
Hometown? Adrian, MI. Close to Ann Arbor, if you like.
Studying? IPH – Interdisciplinary Project in the Humanities. It’s like a Great Books major, but you pick an area of focus as well. I haven’t chosen my focus yet, but it will probably be economic history or education. My dream job would be to start a charter school or be the president of a prep school.
Activities on Campus? WUSA, member of the fraternity Sigma Chi.
Where do you live on campus? Room 1 in the Sigma Chi house.
If you were a girl, would you live in House 1?  Yes, I think I would.
How often do you go to the library and where do you sit? During the week, I go to the library often because it’s the most social place to do work. I go to the second floor. Sometimes I go to Whispers if I need an iced coffee with a shot of hazelnut.
How often do you go to Ibby’s and what do you order? I probably go to Ibby’s once a month; occasionally I go with my seven best friends. I either get the gnocchi with sangria, or if I go with the steak, I’ll stick with water because the steak is expensive.
iPhone or Blackberry? Blackberry until Sprint finally gets the iPhone.
Do you tweet? No, but I have a Twitter. I haven’t made my first tweet yet – I’m waiting for my inspiration.
How many siblings do you have? Three siblings – two older brothers and a younger sister.
Are you the golden child? Not really. I’m average.
Your favorite sandwich?  Probably PB & J with peanut butter on both sides of the bread and jelly in the middle. White bread, definitely.
Do you shop for your own clothes? I do, actually. Sometimes my mom will pick stuff up for me if she thinks I’ll like it, but her success rate is only 50/50.
What makes a girl attractive? Good sense of humor and smells good. Good teeth are important.
Are you excited for WILD? Of course.
What makes you angry? Probably when I lose my pens. I can’t keep track of them. I need to get a pencil case.
What would you do if you had a time machine? I’d probably go back to the 1920s and try to hang out with the Great Gatsby crew.
Do you own a mini fridge? What is in it? Yeah, I do have one. Water, Vitamin Water – you got to have energy. And some Redbull. No food.
Are you flexible? No, not at all. During cross-country in high school, I partially fractured my pelvis because my hamstring was so tight. But I can touch my toes – fingers three inches past my feet. That’s flexible, right?

To catch a glimpse of this cutie, head out to Einstein’s around 8:30 or 9 tomorrow morning, and keep your eyes peeled for Taylor. If you don’t spot him, wait ten years, then Google search “Taylor Docking” and “prep school headmaster” to see where he’s at. Wait, don’t, that’s cyber stalking. Just follow him on Twitter, @TDocking, it’s more socially acceptable.
