Spotted: New transfer student from Berkeley constantly on the run, whether it be to class, soccer practice, or a training workshop. He might be new on campus, but he’s already geared up for the winter months in WashU apparel. Who is this elusive cutie you say? None other than Vincent Shin! HC WashU got the lucky chance to sit down and find out a little more about what makes him such a catch.

Why did you decide to transfer to WashU? Berkeley was great, but I wanted more of a campus feeling, a smaller tight-knit community. I also wanted to study business whereas at Berkeley I was studying Econ and Stats. WashU has more resources, but I still love Berkeley.

What do you miss the most about California? Brilliant autumn weather and In-n-Out!
Â
If you could work or live anywhere in the world, where would you go? Maldives, because I went there when I was in high school. A friend was teaching me how to surf, and I totally failed, but the people there are so chill, and I just loved it. I want to retire on an island like the Maldives and just have a good time.
Â
What do you look for in a girl? It’s a “feel.” You just connect. It’s not about if she’s pretty or not, but if I had to say, my preference would be cute, innocent, and petite!
Â
What’s the most romantic thing you’ve done? I knew a friend whose dad owned a restaurant, and so I held a birthday party for my girlfriend there. I played the piano and sang for her, and then gave her a rose.
Â
What’s the best pickup line someone’s ever used on you? It’s not a pickup line, but I like when girls are just straight up with me and brave enough to say how they feel. This girl just called me up one day and said, “Hey, I think I like you.” And I really appreciated that.
Â
Any hidden talents? I’ve played the flute for a really long time, and people are always surprised because they think that sporty guys aren’t good at music, but I can do both.
Â
Do you have any big goals for this year? Yes! My biggest one would be to find a good summer internship so that it can lead to a full time job.
