Are your parents coming to town in October? YAY! Here’s a complete list of ways to entertain them and keep them busy enough to forget about your midterm grades…
Friday Night
This may be your first time seeing your parents since Convocation! So exciting! Celebrate your reunion by going out to dinner at some of the fun places you’ve explored with your friends. Walk around the Delmar Loop for dinner at WUSTL-classic Mission Taco. I recommend the portobello mushroom taco and the side of corn. Then grab some Thai rolled ice cream at the brand new Snow Factory. Craving some good southern BBQ? Stop by Sugarfire for a great authentic dinner and hop on over to Sugarpie next door for out-of-this-world desserts.

Saturday Day
Have little siblings joining for the weekend? Get out of the city and head on over to Frightfest at 6 Flags. Don’t forget it is Halloween weekend… what better way to celebrate than caramel apples and rollercoasters? Looking for something a little closer to campus? Stop by the St. Louis Zoo in forest park for their Boo at the Zoo event from 9 am – 3 pm. Stop by Kayak’s for a bite to eat on the way… try their amazing, gooey nutella french toast.
Saturday Night
Before heading off with your friends for a hopefully lit halloween party, grab some delicious italian at Pastaria. It’ll please the whole family, even the little picky siblings.

Sunday Morning
Brunch at Winslow’s home before your family’s head back home is a must. If you’re into eggs and a health-nut, ask for the avocado toast (not on the menu)! If pancakes are more your style, ask for banana chocolate chip. Winslow’s pancakes are the best I’ve found in St. Louis so far. And then grab a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting to go.
Don’t forget to clean up your room before the parents come into town! Let them meet your friends. They may embarrass you, but that is their job. Remember have fun, and appreciate them paying for your dinner and a chance to get off campus for a bit!! Happy halloween, friends!
