Whether you’re voting via mail or going to the voting booths, the election is in a short 10 days. As a last attempt to persuade female Trump supporters, here’s a list of some of the president’s worst comments about women and, thus, a list of reasons why as a young, female college student, you should never vote for Donald Trump.
Reason #1: his incessant hyper-sexualization of women
– On Halle Berry (2013): “I love her…upper body”
– On a contestant on his show The Apprentice (2013): “That must be a pretty picture, you dropping to your knees.”
– On Jessica Chastain (2013): “She’s certainly not hot” 2013
– On Brigette Macron (yes, the first lady of France) (2017): “You know, you’re in such good shape. Beautiful.”
– On Steffi Graf (2004): “You never get to the face because the body’s so good.”
– On Lindsay Lohan (2004): She’s probably deeply troubled, and therefore great in bed. How come the deeply troubled women — deeply, deeply troubled — they’re always the best in bed?”
Reason #2: he perpetrates r*pe culture (in addition to his various sexual assault allegations)
– On Nancy O’Dell (2005): “I moved on her actually. You know she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and f-ck her. She was married.” “I moved on her actually. You know she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and f-ck her. She was married.”
– On the issue of sexual assault in the US military (2013): “26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military — only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?”
– In an interview (2005): “I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything … Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”
Reason #3: he enjoys policing women’s bodies
– On Beyoncé (2013): “When Beyoncé was thrusting her hips forward in a very suggestive manner, if someone else would have done that it would have been a national scandal. I thought it was ridiculous … I thought it was not appropriate.”
– On Kim Kardashian (2014): Asked if her butt is big: “Well, absolutely. It’s record-setting. In the old days, they’d say she has a bad body”
– On Cher (2012): “I promise not to talk about your massive plastic surgeries that didn’t work.”
Reason #4: he repeatedly sexualizes young women’s bodies
– On Paris Hilton (2003): “I’ve known Paris Hilton from the time she’s 12, her parents are friends of mine, and the first time I saw her she walked into the room and I said, ‘Who the hell is that?'”
– On daughter Ivanka when she was 22, 24 respectively (2004, 2006): “She does have a very nice figure … if [she] weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” “She’s actually always been very voluptuous.”
– On sleeping with 24-year olds as a 60 year-old man (2006): “I’d have no problem”
Reason #5: Degrading women in political power
– On Carly Fiorina (2015): “Look at that face. Would anybody vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president? I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not supposed to say bad things, but really, folks, come on.”
– On Megyn Kelly (2015): “She gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions. You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”
– On Hillary Clinton (degrading her was a key aspect of his 2016 campaign), (2015, 2016): “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband, what makes her think she can satisfy America?”, “If she were a man, I don’t think she’d get five percent of the vote.”
– To a female reporter (2014): “We could say, politically correct, that look doesn’t matter, but the look obviously matters. Like you wouldn’t have your job if you weren’t beautiful.”
