There’s no arguing over the fact that fall is one of the best times of the year for fashion. Last year, fleece jackets or “teddy coats” as most people called them were a huge trend. Every clothing store was selling their own style of the signature brown fuzzy jacket that every girl owned. Now, fleece jackets are back and are definitely offered in a larger variety compared to last year. I recently went shopping and I instantly noticed that fleece coats were everywhere. Stores such as American Eagle, Urban Outfitters and Forever 21 are selling the basic brown jackets along with new colors, patterns, and styles that I haven’t seen before. Fleece jackets are now an effortless way to add fun and flare to any basic outfit– oh, and they also keep you warm. Here are five of my favorite unique fleece jackets out in stores right now that make awesome outfits.
1. Pretty in Plaid
Plaid is a classic fall pattern which you can now style in a new way. American Eagle offers a Faux Sherpa Plaid Coat this season that has a peacoat cut and features a collared neckline. Its different shades of brown along with black and white would be perfect with black skinny jeans, a neutral colored top, a thick grey scarf, and simple black booties.
2. Pop of Color
I love how stores are coming out with fleece coats in almost every color imaginable. This blue Willow Fuzzy Drawstring Teddy Coat from Urban Outfitters is an easy and fun way to add a pop of color to any outfit. Pairing this jacket with grey joggers, a white bodysuit, and white Nike Air Force 1’s allows the jacket to become the statement piece and all you had to do was throw it on before heading out the door!
3. Cute and Classic
Everyone is familiar with the light brown teddy coat that was seen all over Instagram and Pinterest. American Eagle’s Fleece Jacket in brown worn with classic high waisted mom jeans, a black top, and Old Skool Vans is the perfect go-to outfit when you’re running late. Adding a chunky black belt would also be a cute touch. I find this particular jacket adorable because of the navy blue detailing and cropped cut.
4. Sporty Style
Similar to the Urban Outfitters jacket, this Fleece Color Block Pullover from Forever 21 also features a unique pop of color and a cute drawstring detail. This jacket would be perfect with a simple pair of black leggings, white running shoes, and a high ponytail. Forever 21 is great because they sell trendy items for an inexpensive price which is perfect for college students.
5. Denim Dream
Something about denim just screams fall vibes to me. Forever 21’s Denim and Faux Shearling Reversible Jacket is one of a kind because it unites both denim and fleece. This all black jacket would be adorable with a light wash denim skirt, a red top, and black Doctor Martin boots. If skirts aren’t your thing then that’s no problem. I think wearing dark wash ripped jeans can give this outfit an edgy feel.
