I asked 5 of my closest friends (maybe my only friends but that’s neither here nor there) their absolute favorite ride or die makeup products – and this is what they said.
I’ve only recently started actually getting into makeup, and I wanna know what’s good right away.
And because I don’t gatekeep, I thought I’d share with you.
Friend 1- Miss Ivy League
This friend of mine is a boss. She moved all the way to LA from a small town in WA and is killing it at one of the best schools in the nation (UW’s still better though).
- Maybelline FIt me concealer
-
This concealer is non-comedogenic and fragrance-free, meaning it will cover up blemishes but be easy on your skin.
- Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood glam bronzer and highlighter
-
“I use this every day for real.”
I’ve come to learn that miss Charlotte knows a thing or two about makeup, so I trust my friend on this one.
- Laura mercier translucent Setting powder
-
You can find it here.
Friend 2: Miss woman in stem
Yet another BFF who moved to further her education and career opportunities, but this time in STEM.
- Marc jacobs lip gloss in Shade 310 Taboo (Sadly sold out/Nonexistent)
-
Apparently, Marc Jacobs Beauty is closing! I wonder what happened there.
There are still some glosses available here but for an alternative, I can recommend Thrive Causemetics Lip Mate High-Shine Reviving Topper. Trust me, it’s amazing.
- Shiseido Eyelash curler
-
My friend swears by this eyelash curler, saying it keeps her lashes curled alllll night.
Friend 3: The one always wearing heart shaped sunglasses (literally)
This friend of mine is eccentric and fun, and that’s why I adore her.
- Colourpop super shock eyeshadow in ladybird
-
She said that she isn’t too particular about makeup, but that this eyeshadow is one of her favorites.
- L’oreal lash paradise mascara
-
This affordable mascara has great reviews!
- Nars lip gloss in shade orgasm
-
While the photo above shows the gloss in Triple X, my friend’s fave is in Orgasm.
Friend 4: Makeup phemon
I’ve always admired her for her willingness to try bold, beautiful makeup.
- Fenty beauty killawatt freestyle highlighter in Trophy wife
-
This show-stopping highlighter will blind your friends and enemies alike.
- SOL glow oil in Champagne
-
Don’t knock body makeup! This stunning body oil gives you shine and sparkle without drying out your skin.
- Elf clear brow and lash mascara
-
For a subdued yet polished look, this affordable lash + brow duo will keep you looking fresh and clean.
Friend 5: The plant friend
This girl is the queen of plants, thrifting and knowing her sh*t when it comes to social justice issues. I admire her and her effortless makeup.
- BFF black liquid eyeliner from Colourpop
-
She always had a simple wing highlighting her eyes – apparently, this product helps her achieve it!
- Glossier cloud paint in Storm
-
A cult classic for a reason – this was the first liquid blush I’ve ever used and I must say, I get the hype. My friend like’s the shade Storm, but I can also recommend Beam.
Ladies and gentlemen… me.
I couldn’t not include my own recommendations!
- Infinity Waterproof Eyebrow Liner by Thrive Causemetics
-
Now, THIS is my ride-or-die product. The product is blendable, buildable, but also goof-proof! The spoolie is perfection and it helps me get the blend justtttt right.
- Soft Pinch Liquid Blush by rare beauty in Shade Happy
-
No offense but Cloud Paint wishes it was this long-lasting and pigmented. (Please don’t hate me Glossier, I love the stretch concealer.)
The value of the product is insane – you only need the tiniest amount and you get a full flush that lasts forever. I know I’ll be using and loving the product for years.
I hope you enjoyed and got some inspiration from my lovely friends who I pestered endlessly to get this content.
