Fashion week happens twice a year, once in the spring and once in fall. However, it often appears that there are similar themes between the two. This year in particular, the colors from spring fashion week were accentuated during the fall fashion week. Since these trends are so prominent this year, it makes sense that we will be seeing them for a while.
Cold Cherry Red
As cited on Vogue, Glamor, L’Officiel, and many other fashion magazines, cherry red is the fall color. Cherry red was showcased by Ralph Lauren, Versace, Prada, and other designer brands this season. The cherry red hashtag has increased significantly on Tik Tok and Pinterest in the past few months. While seasonal colors, such as orange in the fall and greens and pink in the spring tend to correlate to the physical colors seen throughout the season, cherry red is arbitrary. With its excel into popularity combined with its arbitrariness and multi-season success, cherry red is definitely a color that will be around until next year.
Gallant Grey
With the increase of neutral tones in everyday palates, it’s no surprise that grey is on the come up to become a staple color. Grey has traditionally been a fall color, but with the past few years and this year in particular, grey has become prominent in fall fashion. Because grey is such a versatile color, it can be expected we will be seeing it for a while.
Black to Brown
While brown has always been an autumn color, the resurgence of the 90s trend is what is putting brown in a permanent spot. Furthermore, micro-trends such as “latte makeup” and “chocolate brown nails” has helped to increase brown’s popularity significantly. Lastly, brow has become so popular in the fall, it has been regarded as the “new black” of the season. It is certainly a color you can count of being seen for the next few years.
If you’re thinking of investing in some fall colors, these three should be at the top of your list. They’re classy, timeless, and reliable. Cherry red, grey, and brown, are your fall and future must-haves.
