How to Make the Most of Seattle…According to ChatGPT

The opinions expressed in this article are the writer’s own and do not reflect the views of Her Campus.
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Washington chapter.

Since its launch last November, ChatGPT has gone viral. This generative AI is trained to interact in a conversational way, and its ability to imitate human-like responses has led to a variety of concerns: from academic dishonesty, to easily replacing certain professions, to being able to impersonate others. If you’re unaware of how ChatGPT works, it attempts to understand your prompt, and then replies with sequences of words that it predicts will best answer your question. Therefore it comes across as having a conversation, albeit one that is quite a stilted and devoid of emotion, but a conversation nonetheless.

With the media being so focused on the negatives, I thought I would highlight the benefits of ChatGPT. Specifically, how easy it is to get relevant information in one place. I have used this AI for recipes, movie and book recommendations, and, most notably, suggestions for activities and places to visit. Although that doesn’t alleviate the aforementioned concerns, it does show the positives of this revolutionary technology.

So, I decided to compile a list of the must-go-to places in Seattle, according to ChatGPT. If you’re looking for somewhere new to visit, here are a few ideas.

Keep in mind that these are AI-generated responses, and therefore not necessarily suggestions that HCUW endorses.
