OK, did you know there was an actual UWaterloo Warrior song? It was written in 1966 and I must say, it certainly sounds like it was made back then. Check it out for yourself
Now that I’ve depressed you, don’t despair, there are a lot of new options we can adopt. Here are 5 choices I’m sure you’ll agree are a much better choice to cheer on our UWaterloo teams or just show our UWaterloo spirit….
- Because our school mascot is the Warrior, Warriors by Imagine Dragons definitely makes the list. Not only does it mention this rugged school mascot, it gives off a positive and inspiring vibe with lyrics such as “Here we are, Don’t turn away now, We are the Warriors, That Built This Town”. This song is perfect to listen to before a Waterloo Warrior sporting event.
- Warrior by Kesha also involves our Warrior school mascot however this one is a bit more upbeat and catchy. It’s perfect for amping up the crowd during a Waterloo Warrior game, keeping the buzz going at a post game party or giving you that extra bit of energy you need when cramming for finals.
- Although Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa was made for the city of Pittsburg, this song is also a perfect fit for UWaterloo! With Waterloo’s official school colours of Black and Gold (aka yellow), this song has UWaterloo written all over it. Wouldn’t it be great to hear this song playing at a Waterloo Warrior sporting event instead of everyone screaming “go black, go gold”!?
- Sticking with the colour theme another song that supports our Black and Gold look is Black and Gold by Sam Sparro. This song is very snazzy and fabulous which can be played while getting dressed up in your Waterloo wear, getting ready to head out to a UWaterloo function or just hanging out with your friends.
- And what is at the top of the wish was a UWaterloo Theme Song list you ask?! Let’s be real, since Warrior Women wake up flawless, Flawless by Beyoncé should be played 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!
