A poem to define one-sided love that has lasted so long and now wants to come out to reveal the feelings hiding within it.

Eight years ago,

I saw him, his eyes,

Filled with curiosity

Wondering who he is

A stranger to a friend,

A bond with no expectations,

Eight years ago I found him

Found the one I liked

But, I left

Without saying goodbye

Without saying a word

About my feelings

Then began a saga—

A saga of one-sided love

Eight years of one love

Remaining in one place

A glistening in my eyes

For eight years,

An endless questioning

A battle to end

This one-sided love

In the last eight years

Thoughts came to paper

His eyes haunting my heart

Burning all my forests of love

I will never love another.

Agonized internally,

Furious,

With this one-sided love

With no answers

The last eight years,

Spent with dialogue of the heart

Spent in desperation of an answer

The last eight years

Seemed so long

But were so short

Dwelling in this one-sided love

Never wanted to wait

Never needed to wait

But I unknowingly waited

The last eight years I waited

But this wait won’t end

Leaving me in a deep dark well

With the thought

To speak the truth of my heart

I left it all eight years ago,

I never waited for him

Because he won’t come

But I waited for this love to end

The last eight years,

spent alone In love

Heartbroken

Shattered

In a million pieces of unknown

Lost in a crowd

Waiting for it to end

For this love to end.
