Dog person or not, we cannot deny the positive impacts having a dog has in our lives. There are many studies that show how having a dog improves the human body, and mind on a day to day basis. Here are some reasons why you should consider getting a dog.

Stress Reliver

Dogs are proven to be a huge stress reliver for humans. I see this on a day to day basis with my mom. No matter what day she has at work, whenever she gets home and sees our dog, it is like all of her problems get thrown out the door. She instantly smiles at how happy he gets to see her and instantly starts playing with the dog like nothing bad happened throughout her day. Don’t you want to come home to someone who is super excited to see you each and every time?

Great Workout Partner

Feeling a little lazy? Get a dog! Dogs motivate humans to go out and get some fresh hair. If you are feeling a little less motivated to be active, having a dog will push you to get outside, go on a walk or maybe even a run. Even going to the park and tossing a ball back and forth is exercise enough for the both of you. This keeps you and the dog active and busy which at the end of the day will make you feel better.

Partner for Life

I did not realize the truth behind the saying a dog is a man’s best friend until I got one. They genuinely are your best friend. They will follow you around wherever you go so you will never feel alone. Dogs are also great protectors; they know what is happening around you, way before you do. Lastly, they are amazing cuddlers and will snuggle you all night long if they have to.

Getting a dog is definitely a huge responsibility. I understand the hassle that comes with having one and why some people would decide against it. I was one of those people that had cats her whole life and never saw herself owning a dog. Although, I love both cats and dogs equally, now that I have a dog, I could never see myself going back. If you are considering getting a dog, drop everything you’re doing and go get one. I promise you; you won’t regret it.
