Throughout my past four years at West Chester University, I have had time to explore all the local eateries, but it did not take me long to figure out one of my favorites, Dia Doce Cupcakes. The gourmet cupcake shop is located on South High Street and is a short walk to campus. Each week they present new flavors to try but always have their best-selling winner of Food Networkâs Cupcake Wars cupcake, Peanut Butter Blackout. I have compiled a list of the top four cupcake flavors I have had at Dia Doce. (Donât worry Peanut Butter Blackout made the cut.)
Coming in at number 4, Red Velvet Cookies and Creme Cupcake. This cupcake contains red velvet cake stuffed with Oreo cookies and topped with crushed Oreos and creme cheese icing. I love red velvet cake and never have the opportunity to have it because my mom does not. This cupcake is the perfect opportunity for me to get my red velvet fix.
Next up at number 3, Brown Sugar Glazed Waffle Cupcake. I had this cupcake on a summer day and was surprised by how much I liked the brown sugar cake filled with donut creme. It was so original with its maple frosting and a homemade glazed waffle bite. I did not originally attend on getting this flavor but I am so glad I did and cannot wait to see it back on the menu.
You guessed it! Peanut Butter Blackout is number 2. I really wanted to put this as my number one cupcake, because it deserves it. But after my visit to the shop yesterday I altered my list. I will explain shortly, but I can confirm that I still bought a Peanut Butter Blackout Cupcake. My boyfriend requested it. I absolutely adore eating the chocolate cake filled and topped with peanut butter buttercream and dipped in bittersweet chocolate ganache.
Currently, at the top of my Dia Doce Cupcake Flavor list, number 1 is Salted Caramel Cookies and Creme Cupcake. Yesterday I walked into the shop to grab cupcakes before going to my boyfriendâs baseball game. To my surprise, there was a flavor not listed available. It was this brown sugar cake stuffed with crushed Oreo cookies, and topped with salted caramel buttercream, crushed Oreos, and caramel drizzle. I decided to try it out and with my caramel iced coffee, I could not think of a better pairing.Â

There are so many flavors that I did not mention, or have not even gotten the chance to try yet. But do not worry, as long as I am living in Chester County I will be treating myself to Dia Doce Cupcakes. Check out the cupcakes and coffee, either in the Shop which is open 7 AM-4 PM, or occasionally you can find the Dia Doce Food Truck driving around as well.
