One of my biggest annoyances is having painful, dry lips and forgetting my lip balm at home. To prevent this irritation, I keep a lip product in my belt bag, backpack, and on my nightstand. Now that the weather is getting crisper, it is essential to have a moisturizing lip balm to prevent flaky, cracked, and inflamed lips. Down below are my favorite lip products to use for this fall season:

Aquaphor

In high school, I was prescribed a medication called Accutane, a high dose of Vitamin A used to treat acne. This medication helps shrink the oil glands in your face, targeting acne but also causing insanely dry skin and lips. Aquaphor was the only product that would alleviate my symptoms, and keeps lips soft and hydrated.

Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment

This is by far my favorite lip product that I have been using for over a year now. This product won Allure’s Best Beauty Reward in 2022. The product has great ingredients including peptides, shea butter, and Babassu, and provides a plumping factor after application. The best flavor, in my opinion, is the Salted Caramel (ideal for fall) and Vanilla Cake. Rhode also just recently released their new tinted lip treatment, which I cannot wait to get my hands on.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Lip Oi

If you are looking for a lip product with a little color, this product is calling your name. I enjoy this product because of its lightweight and non-sticky consistency. It also leaves a gorgeous stain on the lips that stays for hours after applying. It is not as hydrating as the two products above, but certainly a staple part of my routine. The best shades of this lip oil for fall include Honesty, Delight, and Joy.

Alba Botanica Petroleum Jelly

I have been using this product for a few years, and can confirm that it is incredible. It is formulated with pure plant oils and botanical waxes and is cruelty free. It is also fragrance free and can be used on all parts of the body, not just the lips. Its thick, slippery consistency allows for a punch of hydration and glossy shine.

Eos SPF Lip Balm

Just because it is no longer hot outside, you can’t just skip your SPF. I have not seen many people advocate for lip sunscreen, although it is necessary to prevent lip sunburn and aging. I have tried many SPF lip balms, and this is by far the best, as it does not cause white streaks or a gross aftertaste taste. The product comes in two flavors: coconut and strawberry. They are both amazing.
