Things to Look Forward to at the end of the School Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at West Chester chapter.

With spring here and summer quickly approaching, there are so many things besides the warm weather to look forward to! Although the end of the school year can be stressful with finals and assignments building up, exciting times are coming ahead.

graduation

Before summer even approaches, school ending comes first! Graduation is an emotional but exciting time. All the hard work gone into your life is finally paying off. This is also a time when families get together to celebrate from all over. From big parties to small get-togethers, there are so many ways to honor this milestone. Not only does it finally get rid of academic stress, it leaves you with a great feeling of accomplishment. Graduation is the end of an important chapter in your life, and the start of a brand new one.

vacation

Whether it is a week or weekend long, vacations are definitely something to look forward to in the summertime. Vacation is a time to improve mental health, get away from your town for a bit, finally take down time for yourself, and take a break from the everyday grind and burnout. Although it may seem expensive and not worth the money, taking a vacation can greatly benefit you. A weekend away will leave feeling refreshed and ready to handle life again.

spending time with friends and family

During the school year, sometimes it is hard to see people you used to be close with because of everything going on. However, during the summer, people typically have a lot more time in their hands and can spend time with their loved ones! Spending time with family and friends will not only strengthen relationships, but you will finally be able to reconnect and catch up with those you might not have had time for before. Summer is the perfect time to create memorable experiences with the people you love most!

summer internships

Summer internships not only give you experience, but you will learn new skills needed for jobs in the future. This is definitely worth looking forward to because during an internship you can meet new people and create new friendships, develop important connections, expand your knowledge, and learn what you really prioritize in a work setting. Continually, you can network with new people and gain confidence in your field. Although they may be hard and intimidating at first, internships are a great opportunity in the summer.

From graduation to new experiences, summer has so many things to look forward to with amazing people! The school year is long and hard, but it comes with so many rewards.
