1090378 words. 3363 pages. 199 chapters. 8 movies. 7 books. 1 story. Little did J.K. Rowling know, as she sat in her small flat and wrote about a boy with scruffy black hair, round glasses, and a lightning bolt scar, that Harry Potter would steal the hearts of millions around the world. Still to this day, seven years after the final movie installment, the HP fever is still very much an epidemic as Potterheads around the world prepare for the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. However, despite this, there are those who will forever hold a special place in their hearts for the magical world.

In celebration of this amazing legacy, I give to you several confessions of an avid Potterhead, which I’m sure almost all Potter fans can relate to:

You can’t associate yourself with people who don’t like Harry Potter.

The topic will always be worked into the conversation.

When you hear someone say Harry Potter, you’re instantly there with them.

HP references are a must…

You view everyone else as Muggles.

If someone gets their facts wrong, you have to correct them as Hermione would:

You waited for Hagrid to burst through your door on your eleventh birthday.

You’re still waiting for your Hogwarts letter.

You live on Pottermore because you can’t get enough.

You’ve discovered your patronus.

You’ve read the books a million times over.

You know a Huffelpuff when you see one, and if you don’t, you are one.

You’ve been sorted into your house (holla to my fellow Ravenclaws).

You know basically every spell.

You kind of wish you had a diary that talked back to you (minus the Tom Riddle part).

When you look at pictures, you expect them to move.

You’ve dreamt of flying on a broomstick—multiple times.

You’ve ran around the house with a broom between your legs, pretending to play Quiddich.

Quiddich is your favourite sport.

You read the books with a British accent.

You instantly judge people who say they’ve watched the movies, but haven’t read the books.

All of our hearts broke when Sirius died.

You’ve dressed up as Harry Potter/Ron Weasley/Hermione Granger for Halloween many times.

You have dedicated shelf in your bookcase for all things HP.

The theme song is your ringtone/alarm.

You’re known for randomly singing/humming/whistling the theme song.

Whenever you hear the word “always,” your heart cries a little.

You spend 50% of your time shopping for HP merch.

You patiently wait for the day cars can fly.

Molly Weasley is a Bad Ass Mom.

When you shop for socks, you think of Dobby.

When you go out, you want to order Butterbeer.

You refer to a nasty person as “Malfoy.”

You hate Umbridge more than Voldemort.

When asked why you love HP so much, you roll your eyes and walk away.

You view Dumbledore as the grandfather you never had.

Hogwarts will always be your home.
