Hi there, beautiful.
First and foremost, I miss you. I miss laughing with you in class; I miss staying up late watching old movies; I miss our wine nights and I miss our spontaneous trips. I think about you every day and wonder what you’re up to, what you’ve been feeling lately and if you’re happy. I really hope you are.
I think a lot about what it would be like if we had stayed close. While I think it would be great, I’m much happier this way. You’re chasing your dreams and doing your best. I am proud of you. What you’re doing gives me more joy than being down the street ever did. I talk about you all the time. My customers who come and go in the matter of an hour or so know our adventures and about the place you live right now. I think they know I miss you—I know for sure my boyfriend does.
I want you to know I don’t blame you for when I feel lonely and no part of me feels like we’re drifting apart. It’s hard to keep in contact through time zones or university or day job hours versus my night shift serving and I know it’s me too, so I get it. I want you to know if you need anything, whether you’re in England or Owen Sound, Niagara or Mitchell, I am only a text away. I want to hear about nothingness; I want to catch up as fast as we can in our busy wild lives, whether it’s about your boyfriend or shoes you really like. You’re never annoying me and I plan to give as much attention as I physically can.
Thank you for being there for me through it all: family crises, break ups, loneliness and any negativity that has come my way. I couldn’t have done it without you.
Also thank you for being there for all the good things: wild nights out, hangover breakfasts, and parties for my successes. You always turn something bad into the time of my life. I couldn’t have done that without you, either.
You mean the world to me, friend, and I mean that. It doesn’t matter where you are, you will always be a part of who I am and who I am becoming and I really hope you continue to make me a part of you, too.
I love you, lady.
See you in the next facetime.
Always yours,
Me.
