Cold weather = Cute outfits…This is the guide

In my opinion, winter is the best time of year. The snow is falling while you’re cozy in bed, watching the snowflakes through your window and sipping tea. On the rare occasions that you do have to go outside during winter, although it’s beautiful, let’s be real… it’s freezing. The cold does not stop us girls from dressing cute; here’s some ways I like to incorporate under-layers and warm accessories into my outfits during the winter time.

Under layers are the best way to stay warm while looking cute. Us girls know the struggle when picking an outfit, let alone when it’s cold outside but warm in class. A neutral turtleneck or T-shirt underneath your sweater or will always enhance your outfit while keeping you at the perfect temperature, as you can remove a layer to suit your liking. Layering an oversized jacket will also keep you warm.

Another way to level up your outfit is by adding accessories. Although most accessories can’t keep you warm, these ones can keep you warm and not mess up your style… and you probably already have everything in your closet. Personally, hats make my hair flat, so I’d just be freezing, and that’s when my ears start to freeze because I’m not willing to compromise hair for warmth. This winter, I’m going to accessorize with some earmuffs and gloves so I can stay warm while looking like I didn’t just roll out of bed. Wearing fuzzy socks, though they don’t keep you warm with your shoes on, will trick your brain into feeling more comfortable in class—a little pleasure we all deserve.

Some more little tricks I use to stay warm include avoiding bold colours when layering. I do this because you can layer with more freedom without worrying about what matches. Carrying hot coffee or tea with gloves is another great way to stay warm. While doing this, you aren’t just warming your hands but also your body and it’s a great feeling. Hot packs aren’t just for children and they can keep you warm anywhere, for example, in mittens, shoes and even just your sweater.

Picking an outfit during winter is very hard; you’re not just dealing with the cold but also your own personal style. That’s why, to most women, staying warm while expressing yourself in what you wear is the most rewarding feeling. This is why I hope these tips can help you not only be more comfortable but also help you find your style, which is hard but rewarding.
