On a night out, I kid you not; I get more stressed about what I’m going to drink than the outfit I’m going to wear. I’m that weirdo who doesn’t like wine, and I definitely can’t drink beer, so deciding what to drink is always a challenge. My go-to is usually mixed drinks, but lately I’ve been broke AF, and needed to find some drinks that both my bank account and I agreed with. If any of you are like me, or are interested in cheap drinks that do the job, keep reading.
1. Smirnoff Ice
TBT to grade 9! We’ve all gotten drunk off of the 1L bottle of Smirnoff Ice at least once in our lives. Pick up one of these for yourself (or to be that a-hole who ices their friends).
2. Four Loko
I love Four Lokos (the Fruit Punch flavour in particular), and I’ll be the first to admit that they taste awful…BUT…they’re 11.9%, cost around $4, and definitely get you feeling ~loko~. Side note: they are only available at the Beer Store.
3. Sangria
Having a GNO (or BNO)? Pick up a bottle of Girl’s Night Out Sangria. If you don’t like sweet drinks, try the Funf 5 Sangria.
4. Filtered Vodka
Are you into a Ciroc lifestyle, but on a Polar Ice budget? Here’s what you do: buy the cheapest vodka you can find, and filter it through a Brita (or any water filtration system) 5 or 6 times. The more you filter it, the smoother it will go down.
5. Bud Light Lime
Yeah I know, I said I don’t drink beer, but I drink Bud Light Lime when I want to fit in with all my beer drinking friends. If you squeeze a little bit of lime into these, it hardly tastes like beer.
6. Jäger
Forget Jäger Bombs…a pack of Red Bull probably costs more than the Jäger itself. Take some shots, or mix it with some root beer (I promise it tastes just like root beer).
7. Black Fly Coolers
My personal favourite is the Black Fly Whiskey Sour flavour. It’s a high percentage, cheap, and doesn’t taste like the prune juice.
Let your wallet keep calm while you drink on, collegiettes! Remember to always drink responsibly.
