Communication Studies with minors in Film and Anthropology

What’s the best part about being in your position on Her Campus WLU?

I love interacting with people of all types! Whether it’s our members or collaborators within Laurier or beyond, it’s fun to engage with the community.

Have any fun facts?

I have my Open Water Diver certification. I am a pretty good golfer. I have a slight obsession with home decor.

Any other commitments on campus?

Currently? I’m Social Chair of Alpha Omega Sorority, a mentor on the Campus Ambassador team and the Video Editor for The Cord.

Go-to meal at Wilf’s?

Buffalo chicken fingers with rock ‘n’ roll sauce and fries

Best study spot?

Sixth floor of the library in a cubicle at the South West corner

Favourite animal?

I love rhinoceroses!

Favourite memory from high school?

One would be travelling to St. Andrews, New Brunswick as a science ambassador to do lab work and learn about marine biology for a week.

Any pets?

I currently have a budgie named Polka. I also have a ton of fish!

Where would you like to be instead of writing exams?

In a ski lodge with a hot chocolate by a fire or sitting by a dock at dawn

What form would your patronus take? 

Triceratops

Any fun hobbies you have? 

Painting, crafting, dancing, photography, video editing, cooking

What’s your perfect date? 

Something with yummy food and an activity to keep us occupied, yet still cute. Going to a boardwalk carnival is a dream of mine! I love to be playful and have fun!

Madeline graduated from the BA+MA program at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2020. In her undergraduate degree, she majored in Film Studies and History with a specialization in film theory. She later completed her Master's of English degree, where she wrote her thesis on the construction of historical memory and realism in war films.
