Over the past few years, I have fallen in love with essential oils. There are a lot of different brands of essential oils, but my favourite is dōTERRA Essential Oils. I was first introduced to essential oils by my mom. She was introduced to them through a product party, and shortly after, she started selling them.
At first, I was not interested in them except for the smell. Just like my mom, I love the scent of lavender. I was diffusing it all day long, and when I would leave for school or work, I would diffuse it so that I came home to a room smelling like lavender. After finding out about the health-related benefits of essential oils, I started to use them more often. Now, I love essential oils and could not imagine my life without them.
Lavender is just one of my favourite essential oils. Below I have included my top five favourite dōTERRA Essential Oils.
On Guard
On Guard is an oil that is exclusive to dōTERRA. It is a mix of various essential oils to make a protective blend that helps against environmental and seasonal threats.
When my mom first started using essential oils, On Guard was one of the oils diffused most around our house. I quickly fell in love with not only the scent but its health-related purposes. Since using On Guard, there have been very few times where I have found myself sick. Even if I was about to get sick, On Guard reduced my sick time to only a day or two instead of my typical week-long sickness.
I absolutely love On Guard and know that it is an oil that I will use for the rest of my life.
Lavender
Lavender is an oil that almost everyone loves. It smells amazing and has great benefits as well. On top of the awesome smell, I use lavender to fall asleep. Lavender is a very relaxing, calming smell that, without a doubt, will always relax me into a deep sleep.
Abode
Just like On Guard, Abode is exclusive to dōTERRA. Abode is a refreshing blend of several oils for its cleansing and clean smelling ability.
Abode came out this year, just like Madagascar Vanilla, and it quickly became a top five favourite. Now that it is the winter, my apartment can get a bit stuffy, so I use Abode to make my apartment smell fresh and clean all day long.
Adaptiv
Similar to Abode, Adaptiv is exclusive to dōTERRA. It is a calming blend that is typically used for anxiety. At least, that is what I use it for, and it has been a great help in overcoming some of my anxiety issues. When I am writing a midterm or exam from the comfort of my home, I make sure to diffuse it in the area around me to relax and calm my nerves. I also think that the scent is very pretty, and I tend to diffuse the oil even when I am not stressed or anxious.
Madagascar Vanilla
Vanilla is one of my all-time favourite scents ever. I love almost everything that is scented vanilla and will pretty much stop everything I am doing to smell the scent.
Recently, dōTERRA released Madagascar Vanilla, and I had never been so happy. There is not much to say about the scent, and the only reason it makes the top five list is that I love the scent.
Some other essential oils close to making the list were Eucalyptus, Breathe and Purify.
Overall, I highly recommend trying essential oils. Whether for interesting scents or health-related reasons, I think everyone could benefit from essential oils.
