Ever see a post for a holiday that you’d love to celebrate, but then realize it was from three days ago? I’m here to solve that problem by providing you with a list of national days for November so that you don’t miss any of these fun and wacky days.
We start off right away on November first, also known as Cook for Your Pets Day! What could be better than a day to play around in the kitchen and treat your pet? If you’re not the best cook you can always pick up a freshly baked treat for your dog, before treating yourself on November fourth: National Candy Day! This day is great for any leftover Halloween candy (if you didn’t eat it all already). Then we have Nacho Day on November sixth! Whether you order in or make them yourself, nachos are always a tasty treat that is fun to make.
For my coffee lovers who need an excuse to go to Starbucks, I’ve got a day for you! November eighth is Cappuccino Day, so go get yourself your favourite drink. With the weather getting colder, you’re going to need warm drinks. You’re also going to need some chicken soup! Luckily for you, Chicken Soup Day is the 12th of November! Not long after that, we have National Pickle Day on November 14th. This day isn’t for everyone, but if you’re a pickle fan, it’s a big dill.
After eating all that food, you’re going to need November 17th, or Take a Hike Day. It’s a good time to enjoy being outside before it gets too cold. We then get to celebrate the birthday of everyone’s favourite mouse on November 18. That’s right, happy birthday Mickey! After you have a fun time celebrating, you can destroy friendships on November 19th by playing monopoly on National Play Monopoly Day. Right after that, on November 20th, we have Absurdity Day, a day dedicated to being as absurd as possible. The 21st of November is The Bay’s Red Mitten Day, which is a great way for Canadians to show their pride (and for The Bay to clear out their mitten inventory). Finally, we have National Mason Jar day! I love mason jars and their many uses, from cups to cute containers for storage. You can never have too many mason jars, right?
Although nothing beats the big days like Halloween or Christmas, these smaller holidays are cute and fun to take part in! They make a great way to treat yourself as the weather gets colder, so make sure to mark these days off in your calendar!
