Most of us are guilty of listening to a few of our favourite artists on repeat. Once we know what we like, we stick to it because it can be hard finding new artists to listen to. So, here is a list of my favourite underrated artists that you should definitely add to your playlist!

Maisie Peters

Maisie Peters is my current obsession. She is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from England. If you like Birdy and Taylor Swift, odds are that you will like Maisie Peters! My favourite songs by her are “Funeral” featuring James Bay, “I’m Trying (Not Friends)” and “Outdoor Pool.”

Lizzy McAlpine

Lizzy McAlpine’s vibe is similar to Dodie and Phoebe Bridgers, so if you are a fan of their music, you will likely enjoy Lizzy’s! My current favourite songs by her are “Apple Pie” and “Pancakes for Dinner.” Lizzy has a new album called five seconds flat coming out on April 8th, 2022, so there will be even more good music to listen to!

Deb Never

Deb Never is a singer-songwriter who writes bedroom pop songs that draw influence from emo-rap and 90s rave songs. Some of my favourite songs from her discography are “Someone Else” and “Crutches.” She has a wide variety of songs that you should definitely check out!

Isak Danielson

Isak Danielson is a singer-songwriter from Sweden. His song “Always” gained a lot of popularity in 2018, for good reason! Currently, my favourite songs by him are “Almost Heaven,” “Remember To Remember Me” and “Power.” He has a new album called King of a Tragedy that is also coming out on April 8th, 2022!

Sun Room

Sun Room is a super fun band with a summery vibe. Their surf rock songs will make you feel like you are on the way to the beach. My favourite songs by them at the moment are “Clementine,” “Sol Del Sur” and “Somewhere Tropical.” They are the perfect band to listen to on repeat to get yourself excited for the summer!

Joy Oladokun

Joy Oladokun’s music spans various genres including R&B, rock, folk and pop, so odds are there will be something in her discography that you will enjoy! Recently I have been playing her songs “Bigger Man” and “breathe again” on repeat.

Luke Hemmings

Luke Hemmings has had a lot of success as a member of the band 5 Seconds of Summer, but his solo album is criminally underrated! He honestly reminds me a bit of Shawn Mendes and Harry Styles. My favourite songs by him are definitely “Starting Line” and “Mum.” All 12 songs on his album, When Facing the Things We Turn Away From, are amazing and you should definitely check it out if you have not already!

Jean Dawson

If you like Dominic Fike and A$AP Rocky, you will likely like Jean Dawson. He mashes hip-hop, rap and indie rock together to make some great music. Some songs of his that you should definitely listen to are “Triple Double” and “Clear Bones.”

Cate

Cate is a singer-songwriter from Canada who is currently based in England. My favourite songs by Cate are “Moments,” “Groupie” and “Stupid.” Her music kind of reminds me of Olivia Rodrigo and Tate McRae, so if you are looking for more music like theirs you should definitely listen to Cate!

Cian Ducrot

Cian Ducrot is an Irish singer-songwriter who started to gain some popularity after being on The Voice U.K. If you like James Arthur and Shawn Mendes, you will probably like Cian’s music! He even has a song with Cate who I mentioned above called “Know Me Again” which you should definitely check out! Some of my other favourite songs by him are “Crocodiles” and “21 Seconds.”

So, if you are looking for new music, you should definitely try listening to these 10 underrated artists. They all have amazing songs that you should add to your playlist immediately!
