HC (Her Campus): Do you have any nicknames?
CM (Carter McCauley): Mac or Big Mac
Â
HC: What do you want to do with your major?
CM: I have a Pre-Med focus. I want to go to Mayo Medical School and go into what is called the PhD/MD program.
Â
HC: If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
CM: Funny (at least I think I’m funny), Nerd (Yeah…), Athletic
Â
HC: When you’re not in class, how do you spend your free time?
CM: Free time? Is that a thing? Well, when I get free time, I just like to relax and hang out with friends.
Â
HC: What is the funniest or weirdest thing you’ve seen on campus?
CM: The squirrels are definitely interesting around campus.
Â
Â
HC: Do you have a favorite song?
CM: I don’t really have a favorite song, but my favorite station on Pandora is “Summer hits of the 2000s”. If you don’t have that as a station you need it.
Â
HC: What is your go-to beverage?
CM: Chocolate Milk, no doubt.
Â
HC: If you could have personally witnessed anything, what would it be?
CM: I would have loved to see the 1980 Olympic hockey game against the Soviets.
Â
HC: Favorite animal?
CM: Definitely a wolf or a panda bear.
Â
HC: What is your biggest pet peeve?
CM: People who say they are going to do one thing and then at the last minute change their mind.
Â
Â
HC: If your life became a movie, who would play you?
CM: Nathan Scott (I hear that I look like him?)
Â
HC: What is your favorite pickup line?
CM: “Me without you is like a nerd without braces, A shoe without laces, aSentenceWithoutSpaces.“  I never use cheesy pickup lines. This is just a favorite if I ever did, of course.
Â
HC: What is the first thing you notice about a girl?
CM: Definitely her eyes or her smile.
Â
HC: What are some characteristics you look for in a girl?
CM: Funny, intelligent, athletic, and a genuinely nice person.
Â
HC: What is your ideal date?
CM: An ideal date for me is to just spend time with her and getting to know every part about her. For me, getting to know someone is one of the best parts of being in a relationship.
Â
Â
HC: Four things you can’t live without?
CM: 4 F’s: Food, Family, Faith and Friends
Â
HC: Tell me about your family.
CM: I have 3 siblings, 2 sisters and one brother. My older sister graduated from Winona State last year as a secondary math major. I have an older brother who is a chemical engineer and a younger sister who is a junior in high school. My mom went through the nursing program here so I have many connections to Winona State.
Â
HC: Who is your role model?
CM: My Grandpa. He was definitely a big family man and was the least selfish person I know. He would come to my games and cheer me on and was the biggest supporter. He is who I hope to be like.
Â
HC: Word of advice for people?
CM: Don’t be satisfied with being average. You have to fight for what you want and not expect it to come to you.
Â
HC: How does it feel to be nominated as a Her Campus Cutie?
CM: It’s definitely pretty cool to be nominated. I feel very humbled.
