This week’s campus cutie is what some might call, “a tall glass of water.” You may have seen this cutie working out at the gym or striving to become a broadcaster in Phelps Hall. This “super single” cutie is ready to find someone to help him travel the world.
Year: JuniorHometown: Waverly, MNMajor/Minor: Transmedia, Recreational TourismRelationship Status: Super Single
HC (Her Campus): What are you involved in around campus?DG (Dom Gilmer): I’m not involved with anything besides my campus job, sadly.
HC: With your major, what does your future entail for you?DG: I’d like to work with TV or film production, whether that be editing, directing, writing etc.
HC: Who is your role model, and why?DG: One of my role models is my older brother Joel. He’s a very stand out guy, who doesn’t take himself too seriously, he has always been there when I’ve needed guidance in life and is one of my best friends.
HC: Do you have any fun nicknames? If so, what are they? DG: Not really, I’ll get Dommer sometimes from some relatives but other than that no, usually people just call me Dom.
HC: Favorite memory so far at Winona State? DG: A favorite memory of mine, was second semester last year, the week before finals, me and two of my friends, Peter Herman and Jesse Holman, stayed up all night doing homework and studying for class. We started out at Perkins till about 3 a.m. and didn’t have a ride back to campus, so we walked back to the Smaug and stayed there till about 10 a.m. working on things. What I was working on wasn’t fun but chilling with two of my best friends for an all-nighter was very fun and memorable.
HC: Fun fact about yourself? DG: Youngest of six?
HC: How would you picture your ideal girl? DG: Outgoing, sense of humor, cute, doesn’t take herself too serious, likes to work out, likes Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter or any other nerdy things she could watch with me, and artistic in some way, maybe.
HC: Describe your perfect date. DG: Without sounding extremely cliché, the perfect date would be throwing an old mattress in the back of a pickup truck, grabbing a bunch of cozy blankets and pillows, and driving out to a empty field, in late fall so its kind of chilly and looking at the stars all night, while listening to chill music.
HC: Celebrity crush? DG: Virtually a tie between Lana Del Rey and Emma Watson; I love them both.
HC: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would that be?DG: New Zealand, hands down.
HC: What is your favorite quote?DG: “Deep roots are not reached by the frost”
HC: Last question, how does it feel to be nominated as Campus Cutie?DG: It feels great and I feel very appreciated!
