Guydance: Standing Out

I’ve been living the single life for a while now and I’m wondering, what makes a girl stand apart from the rest other than looks?

Dear Anon,

Consider yourself lucky that you’re single, having a significant other is nice but understand and appreciate where you are at in life. College is where you should focus on bettering yourself and developing who you are going to become as a person. I mean if you’re into someone then you’re into them but don’t lose sight of that fact that most of your time and energy should be focused on you and your future instead of trying to catch the attention of guys. You’ll feel better when you make big things happen for yourself because the men will always be there.  

Now, in terms of standing out, obviously, it depends on what a man’s interest are, but I think most men will agree that being easy to talk to is a big turn on. I’ve met a lot of beautiful girls who truly suck at holding conversations. It’s horrid. Having a fun easygoing conversationalist is very sought after. No drama is a big thing too. Drama is inevitable with girls of course but some girls tend to thrive on drama and destruction like cockroaches. Do yourself a favor and keep yourself away from that because guys hate being dragged into it, it will also show that are more trustworthy since you don’t like to share everything you hear to stoke the drama. Another key trait is humor. A girl who can take a joke and dish it back to a guy is a keeper in my book, even if she cracks herself up more than others. Lastly someone who can be comfortable in any situation. A girl who can hang around at your house with the guys or with a group of strangers and still have a good time.

Traits like these make a girl a frontrunner any day, regardless of looks. But remember…

Be yourself. Be genuine and you need not worry.
