Fashion has a lot of rules. And recently, it’s all about breaking them. You can’t wear brown and black together. Â Different patterns never mix. Â And most importantly,
You can’t wear white after Labor Day.
Fashion designers have been recognizing this rule as outdated taboo for a while now, but the general public has yet to catch on. Why? Probably because it’s one of the most traditional fashion rules, engrained it in our heads time and time again. But all things come to an end, especially when it comes to fashion.
In an article by GLAMOUR Magazine, Fashion Designer Michael Kors states just how fabulously chic wearing white after Labor Day can be.
“There is something about white in winter that oozes confidence,” He says. “Know what works for you, but continue to discover new looks too, to keep feeling good about yourself.”
Kors couldn’t have said it better, ladies. Pull yourself up by your boot straps and dare to be bold! Those same crisp white jeans you love in summer could be just the perfect addition to your cozy fall sweater and new ankle boots.
Here are some examples of celebs trying this (un-trend) out:
The Saturdays’ Mollie King killing it in white at a fashion show in London.
Model Cara Delevingne rocking her white jeans with a grunge look, perfect for fall.Â
If you’re like me, you don’t dare wear white pants for fear of sitting in something, spilling or staining yourself as I am an expert at all of the above. Here are some examples of some more non-committal options that don’t have to intimidate you.
