Plus, she has a knack for making you laugh!
Â
HC (Her Campus): What are three words to describe you?
JK (Jessica Karl): Determined, compassionate, and silly.
Â
HC: How would you describe your clothing style?
JK: I like to think my style is a little bit edgy and a lot a bit girly.
Â
HC: What are four things you couldn’t live without?
JK: People, puppies, the color pink, and fuzzy slippers.
Â
HC: What emoji describes you best?
JK: The one eye open, tongue out emoji because it is so silly!
Â
HC: Any habits?
JK: A habit or addiction I have is brushing my teeth. Every time I leave my house, I brush my teeth; sometimes this is 10 times a day.
Â
HC: What jobs do you have?
JK: I supervise students at Winona Middle School during the daytime and I am the Dance Team Coach there as well. I also work as a Disney Princess.
Â
Â
HC: A Disney Princess? Tell us more!
JK: Well, I work for a place called Dream Parties For You in Woodbury, MN. They basically scout girls on Facebook, which is how they found me, and see if they want to dress up as princesses for little girls’ birthday parties and other events. They do your makeup and hair, well actually it’s all wigs, but they get you all ready and it’s fun because the little girls really believe you are that princess. It makes you feel like you’re working in Disney World.
Â
HC: So you like to dance. How long have you danced and what things have you done through dance?
JK: I’ve been dancing for about 17 years now. I danced at a competitive studio since I was 4 years old and did that all the way up through high school. I even had a minor in dance. I love dancing!
Â
HC: What would be your dream job then?
JK: Being a professional backup dancer for Britney Spears. I love her!
Â
HC: What does a typical Friday look like for you?
JK: Workout, go to work, do some homework, then find friends to dance around the house with.
Â
HC: Favorite restaurant?
JK: Ichibans in Minneapolis or Bubba Gump Shrimp because I have a weakness for Forrest.
Â
Â
HC: What is the first thing you notice about a guy?
JK: His eyes and smile. Everyone looks more approachable when they smile and happy people are attractive.
Â
HC: What characteristics do you look for in a guy?
JK: Confidence, ambition, a good sense of humor, and just generally loves life.
Â
HC: What is your perfect date?
JK: Going to a Twins game in the summer, or a MN Wild game in the winter.
Â
HC: Favorite quote?
JK: “You is kind. You is smart. You is important” – The Help
This will be my teacher motto. Everyone, especially children, should believe they are smart and important enough, and that being kind is the most important thing you can do.
Â
HC: How does it feel to be nominated as Campus Cutie?
JK: I am very flattered, but surprised! There are so many cuties on campus.
