My partner and I have been planning our spring break for at least a month now, and I’ve been looking forward to the time I’d get to spend with him. Caleb and I always go on dates when we’re together and we try to get at least one really special, fancy date night before we part ways as we’re currently long-distance while I’m in school. So, without further ado, here are the cute dates that Caleb and I decided on while I was home.
1. Dinner Date Night:
(West Bend, WI)
Ninja Japanese Steakhouse
Caleb’s hibachi!
My sushi!
The food was really great and I always love trying new sushi places, so we went to one of Caleb’s favorites! I got the green river roll and the snow crab roll, Caleb got a steak hibachi with steak and shrimp. While the snow crab was not my favorite, the green river roll was super, super good! The tempura shrimp with cream cheese was the perfect pairing, and literally melted in my mouth. Caleb really liked the hibachi, and he let me try a bit of his steak, which was perfectly cooked to medium.
2. Lunch Date:
The Crafty Cow
(Milwaukee, WI)
No food pictures, I’m sorry. The burgers here are now one of my favorites. Caleb and I both did the bacon cheeseburger lunch special; I got mine with sweet potato fries and he got his with mac and cheese. The burger itself was stuffed with two different kinds of cheese (cheddar and white), and the cheese just came right out the burger, super stringy like biting into pizza with the cheese cooked just right. All around, a really great meal!
3. Fancy Dinner Date:
Johnny Manhattan’s
(Hubertus, WI)
Caleb’s steak and shrimp!
My salmon and greens!
None of us had been here before and the both of us were blown away by the food. I will say, it’s a bit pricey, but for the food you get it is 100% worth it! I got the Salmon Del Giorno, which is a salmon dish they have for the night, so I had no idea what it was going to be until it came out. The dish entailed pastry-wrapped salmon with cream cheese and spinach filling, alongside asparagus and green beans. Literally, the salmon was to die for, it was probably the best salmon dish I’ve ever had! Caleb got a petite filet mignon with rosemary potatoes and shrimp. Another perfectly cooked and seasoned steak, and the potatoes were really good as well. I really love rosemary potatoes and they were perfectly seasoned! I was super impressed with the food, so was Caleb. Definitely the best way to end my last night before heading back to school.
All in all, we got some really great food! I had the best few days back home and I’m super blessed I got to spend it with someone amazing. I highly recommend anyone visiting or living in or around Milwaukee to try these places out!
