Summer will be here before we know it! Whether or not you have planned an eventful summer ahead, you may find yourself feeling bored and looking for something to do. Here are some ideas of things to keep you busy this summer.
Get Organized:
· Clean your room/living space
· Rearrange your room
· Go through your closet and get rid of (donate) what you don’t wear anymore
· Clean up your social media accounts and computer
Do Something Fun with Friends:
· Make dinner for your friends
· Go exploring outside
· Go boating
· Go to the beach
· Cook or bake a new recipe together
· Have a picnic
· Go rock climbing
· Walk, bike, or rollerblade around a lake or park
· Go to a museum
· Go to a farmer’s market (it’s fun to go solo to these, as well)
· Go to a local concert
· Set up a backyard theatre with a projector and screen and have a movie night with yummy snacks
· Visit a national park in Minnesota. Click here for more information.
· Go camping, because who doesn’t love campfire cooking and adventuring with your best friends? Also, check out Pinterest for tons of fun and creative camping tips, hacks and recipes.
· Have a little photo-shoot while out and about in a big city (or really anywhere). Smartphone cameras work just fine. Have fun with it and get creative.
· Have a bonfire (this could be in a bonfire pit in your backyard or even on the beach) with smores.
· Throw a party/get together
· Go out for drinks
· Get dressed up and go to a fancy restaurant
· Have a sleepover (movies, snacks, beauty masks, etc.)
· Go to a cabin for a week(end)
· Have a game night, invite some friends over and play cards and have some drinks. Might sound silly but it can be a blast.
· Volunteer together
Things to do on your own:
· Read
· Do some yoga or any other type of exercise
· Burn a cd for yourself or a friend/make a playlist
· Refurbish old furniture
· Do that DIY project you found on Pinterest that you’ve wanted to do
· Teach yourself how to French braid your hair (if you don’t know how already)
· Treat yourself to an at-home spa day with a homemade or store-bought face mask, a hair treatment, and/or a bubble bath
· Send a postcard to a family member or that friend from college that lives far away
· Write in a journal
· Buy a polaroid camera and take pictures of cute or interesting things and put them in a little scrapbook
· Plant some flowers
· Volunteer
· If you have a dog, take it out on a walk
· Make jewelry
And if none of these ideas help you combat your boredom, a nap is always a good option, too!
