Top Five Coffee Shops to Visit in Winona

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

With the school year starting, classes are already in full swing. If you’re like me, finding a study spot is a must to survive all the homework. Luckily we live in a town full of unique and interesting places where you can grab a cup of coffee and get started. These are the top five spots that would be perfect to visit before the semester is over.

1.  Blooming Grounds

Blooming Grounds is the place to go if you love a cozy atmosphere. The warm lighting, acoustic music, and rustic design make it a perfect spot to relax for an afternoon.

If you’re looking for something to do in the evening, stop by for some free entertainment on stage every Wednesday and Friday night. If you don’t have time to stop in, their new location has a drive-thru for a quicker way to get your coffee fix.

2. Mugby Junction

Mugby is a hot spot for students who want to study between classes. With one location on campus and the other one a block away, you don’t have to travel very far.

From drinks to food, there are always a wide variety of choices on their menu to try.

3. Blue Heron

The Blue Heron is the perfect place to go if you want to feel at home. From many events, to the attached bookstore, there is always something to do.

They have many things on the menu to eat and drink, and all of their food is made with local and organic ingredients.

4. Caribou Coffee

Caribou Coffee has finally made its way to Winona this past year.

With their cozy seating and their wilderness theme, it sets up the perfect atmosphere to grab a blended drink or hot tea.

5. Acoustic Café

Acoustic Café is always buzzing with community members and college students. From the soft music to the comfortable seating, it is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon or evening of studying.

Their menu consists of many different types of food and drink options, from pita pockets to iced chai tea.
