So, it’s getting warmer here in the South and for some of you beach babes, it’s the most exciting time of the year! It’s time to start tanning and planning for summer 2K17. And guess what? I’m happy for you. Extremely.
Some of you ladies could rock the role of everyone’s favorite “Little Mermaid”, Ariel, because you love being in the heat of the summer and cooling off at the pool. However, unlike you, I am no mermaid. I am Elsa, Disney’s snow queen, and her famous line, “The cold never bothered me, anyway,” has never been more true for anyone than it is for me.
So, if you prefer the cold like me, you’ll definitely relate to the thoughts I have about the hot, southern weather we’ve been having lately.Â
1. I hate the feeling of being sweaty in class, just from walking to class.
Let’s be real…we shouldn’t be sweating just from walking to class. But, unless we wear tank tops and running shorts, this heat leaves us feeling pretty gross once we get to class. I’d so much rather wear cute outfits with scarves or jackets but I’m forced to wear t-shirts and shorts all the time!
2. It’s too hot to drink hot coffee, so I’m forced to buy frappuccinos and iced coffee.
But, hey coffee is coffee, right? I also try to stay cool by carrying a re-usable water bottle like a CamelBak or a Hydro Flask.
3. It is a struggle to dress professionally in hot weather.
As a student teacher, this is truly difficult. I have to meet a certain dress code but I’m dying from the heat!
4. It’s so pretty outside, but it’s blisteringly hot.
I want to eno with my friends or sit on one of the swings on Scholars Walk, but it’s so hot!
5. It’s too hot to cuddle!
I love to cuddle! But no one wants to cuddle when it’s 80 degrees! We need that personal space because of the heat!
Maybe no one else is feeling the heat like I am, or maybe you lovely ladies enjoy the warm weather. But, if you’re like me, you’re struggling! Either way, it’s okay!
By carrying a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, breaking out the summer wardrobe, and finding some shade, this ice queen will survive until next fall and winter, and I hope you can, too!
Stay hydrated, and maybe the heat won’t bother us (as much) anyway!
