College is exciting, but stressful. But finishing college is an accomplishment in itself! After years and countless semesters of cramming for tests, research papers, and nightmare professors;Â most are relieved by the time they’re finishing or so-close to finishing.
Here are five thoughts from a senior on their last first week of the semester. Â
Â
1. Thinking about getting to class the first day and doing another God-awful introduction icebreaker.
At this point, IÂ don’t need to know what Sally-Ann’s major, hometown, and fun fact she has. I just want to get through this semester.
Â
2. Thinking about waking up early again after being able to sleep in all break — then realizing in a few months you’ll have to wake up even earlier for your 9-5 job Monday-Friday after this semester.Â
If you’re fortunate enough to have had priority in classes and don’t have an 8 am, enjoy it while it lasts. You’ll be stuck in morning traffic most likely in a few months.
Â
3. Going over the syllabus when you get to class and realizing your last semester is still a lot of work in order to make it to graduation in May.Â
WHY DO SENIORS STILL HAVE TO DO RESEARCH PAPERS?! JUST GIVE ME MY DIPLOMA ALREADY!
Â
4. But at least by this point you have friends in all of your classes you can get through the semester together with.
By now you definitely have a bff in your major to compare notes and do projects with, which should make it more bearable.Â
Â
5. At the end of Syllabus Week, that isn’t really a ‘Syllabus Week’ for seniors, you’re just trying to imagine what it’ll be like to walk across that stage and be done in a few months!
