Going to The Eras Tour? Here Are 5 Tips to Get Noticed by Taylor Nation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

It’s every Swiftie’s wildest dream to meet Taylor Swift, and that dream will become a reality for a select few during The Eras tour.

During a Taylor Swift concert, it is tradition for either Taylor Nation or the iconic Andrea Swift to go up to fans and personally invite them to meet Taylor Swift herself when the concert ends. It may seem impossible to get noticed in a stadium full of 70,000 other people but there are some tricks to make you stand out in this crowd and possibly become the lucky one who meets Swift.

1. Get to The Stadium Early

Try and get to the venue so that you can enter the stadium your concert is at right when the doors open. Not only does this give you a chance to use the bathroom and buy merch before the show starts, but you might have a run-in with Taylor Nation. After you find your seats take a walk, or a run, around your stadium. There will probably be some music playing so dance around as well. Doing all of this is a way to make yourself known. Don’t be afraid if you seem a little bit crazy doing this, many Swifties have gotten to meet Swift because Taylor Nation saw them running around the venue.

2. Be Active On Social Media

Not everyone has the means to arrive at the venue early and run around and that’s okay, Taylor Nation is also known for tracking down fans using their social media accounts. If you are alright with having a public social media account this is an excellent way to get noticed. In the past fans have gotten noticed through Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram but with Taylor Swift becoming active on TikTok and already noticing fans you should add that to your lineup as well.

There are multiple ways to be noticed on social media, the first is to just consistently post Taylor Swift content. Fan pages dedicated specifically to Swift have notoriously been noticed by Taylor Nation. The content can range from fan theories, funny memes about her songs, posting updates about what Swift does, to even simply posting about how much you love her; the possibilities are endless.

In the weeks and days leading up to your concert feel free to post about how excited you are to go and what date you are attending, this will allow Taylor Nation to take note of you and keep an eye out for you. This content can take place in the form of a countdown leading to the day you attend the concert to just posting about how you can’t wait to see Swift perform on the date your concert is.

While you’re attending the concert you can post maybe once or twice the view you have from your seat, this will make it easier for Taylor Nation to know exactly where you are sitting. Fans have gotten noticed by posting a selfie of them with the stage in the background before the openers have even come out and then later during the concert been approached by Taylor Nation or Andrea Swift.

3. Show The Openers Some Love

The talented singers opening for Swift are all people she loves and supports, so it makes sense she would want her fans to do the same. Taylor Nation is looking for people who are enjoying the entire concert, not just when Swift performs. Supporting these openers also makes the atmosphere an enjoyable one and can set the tone for the rest of the show. So, check to see who your openers are and start listening to their music, they may even gain a new fan.

4. Get Creative With Your Outfit

At every Swift concert, it is a fan tradition to dress up in some form. Whether it’s dressing like a Starbucks drink due to the infamous misheard line “Starbucks lovers” from “Blank Space” to dressing in the style of their favorite era, the fans have always had fun with this. Many Swifties, myself included, have already started planning their outfits but don’t stress if you haven’t yet. If your mind is going blank on what to wear Tik Tok is an excellent place to figure out what to wear and where to buy it.

5. Don’t Forget To Enjoy Yourself

Spending the entire night stressing about if you will meet Swift is an easy way to ruin your night. Remember the main reason you’re going is to have fun. Feel free to let loose and dance to your heart’s content (while being mindful of those next to you of course). Don’t be afraid to sing along to your favorite songs, a concert is one of the few places where I feel safe to sing even though I know no one else would willingly choose to hear my singing voice. At concerts, it is socially acceptable to scream sing along with thousands of other people doing the same.

Swift’s concerts are a great place for people to come together and share the one thing they all have in common, loving Taylor Swift. Hold on to the memories you make at this concert because they will hold onto you.
