22 years ago, on March 31st, 1995, the world of Latino culture lost an icon when Selena Quintanilla died. Though she died before many of us were born, we still felt her impact in our lives as we grew up still blasting her music and watching “Selena” time and time again. We flocked to MAC and Madame Tussaud when they honored Selena with a makeup line and wax figure, respectively.

We wonder what could’ve been; would she have crossed over? Would she have had kids who would’ve been just as talented as her? She is an integral part of our culture, even all these years later, and each year around this time we choose to honor her by remembering her incredible talent and kind spirit.

First, who could forget that smile?

Those moves are ICONIC.

Her incredible outfits are still recreated today.

Her music videos were where you learned all your *moves*.

Collegiettes, make sure you take some time out of your schedule to listen blast “Como La Flor” and sing it as loud as you can!
