When someone asks what your favorite thing about your organization is and the first thing that comes to mind are your little(s). So here is an open letter to all littles from the big who would move mountains to make you happy.

Dear little(s),

From the moment I met you at recruitment, I knew that you had to be mine. We were less than ten minutes into our conversation and I felt the most genuine “click” I have felt with anyone. My big always told me that would happen… that everything falls into place. Just like finding your organization, when you find your little, you “have a feeling”. Well, I had that feeling and look where we are now.

You’re beautiful, talented, smart, and funny. Who wouldn’t want someone like that in their life? I was so nervous as matching approached because I had no idea if you wanted me to be your big as badly as I wanted to be. My big was so excited to become a G-big, but honestly, I think my grand may have been even more excited about becoming a GG-big. Who knows?

You have been everything to me. You have picked me up when I was falling apart. You make 2 am Cook Out runs with me. You’re my go-to lunch date, coffee date, shopping date…  my go to date for everything. You gave me something to fight for when I was beginning to lose my hold on things. You gave me hope that when all my older sisters left I would be okay because I still had you around. Every little thing you have done/continue to do for me does not go unnoticed.

Yes, I love all my sisters so much, but there is really no connection quite like that between a big and a little. I want you to know that I will always be here for you. I will always come to your aid no matter what I am doing. I promise to always take care of you. I promise to guide you, teach you, and support you as you journey through our wonderful sisterhood. I promise to never make you feel unwanted or unloved. I promise to be the absolute best big I am capable of being. I want you to learn from me in one way or another. I have had my fair share of mistakes in college and these mistakes are what has grown me into the individual I am. There will be times that you make similar mistakes and even whenever you aren’t feeling so proud of yourself for it I will hold you up.

I want the semesters you have left with me still being an active sister to be the best. I promise to take advantage of having you so close to me, because I know that maintaining this relationship won’t always be so easy after going separate ways in our adult lives. The times we share will be memories that I will hold on to, adore, and talk about forever. Know that I will cherish the relationship you and I have for the rest of my life.

Finally, the last thing I should say is thank you. Thank you for letting me be your person. Thank you for being the sun to my moon. Thank you for letting me be your mentor because as weird as it sounds it will always be an honor to me that I had a hand in shaping you into the woman you will become in this organization and in your life. I am and always will be so very proud of you and I know you will do amazing things to forward the growth of our chapter. You are my legacy.

Love always,

Big
