In one of my previous articles, I wrote about the power of music and how it is an extremely healing tool. This time around, I am taking my personal playlists, and showing them! I have a pretty wide range of playlists, and I hope there’s something here for everybody!

Soph’s Vibes

This playlist, called Soph’s Vibes, is my go-to playlist when I don’t want to skip any songs. This is the playlist that I add all of my favourite songs to, so it is constantly changing depending on what songs I’m really vibing with at the moment. There are a few songs on there by the band Jungle that will forever stay there as they are an homage to my boyfriend, but apart from that most of the songs fluctuate a lot.

Bops

This playlist, called Bops, is one that I’ve really been enjoying lately. I have first and foremost always been emo at heart, so this playlist is an homage to the music I listened to in high school. It’s very nostalgic for me and it’s filled with anything from Bowling for Soup to Bring Me the Horizon. I listen to it all the time, and it always brings me joy thinking about a younger version of myself and connecting through that music.

Harry Potter / Study Time

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6hu8CmNcc8ITXQDrjDEUc0?si=ef2C58QCQtKcekewSKb3FA

These two playlists I have linked here both have the same purpose. I listen to these when I need to study or do homework in general. I used to be a music major, so music has always been a staple in my life, especially classical music. I have always been a big fan of movie scores, so the first link is a playlist I found that is all of the Harry Potter movie scores put together, and the second link is a compilation of Joe Hisaishi Studio Ghibli movies, as well as a few others like The Chronicles of Narnia. Anybody who knows me knows that I am absolutely obsessed with Harry Potter – I have two tattoos dedicated to the series already. So, one of my favorite things to do when listening to the Harry Potter playlist linked above is test myself – my weird talent is that I can identify which movie a song from the Harry Potter score came from.

Falling in Love with Fred Weasley

This playlist is another homage to my love for Harry Potter. This playlist is called Falling in Love with Fred Weasley because my favorite characters from the series are the Weasley twins. While George will forever be my favourite twin, finding a playlist that someone has made that so expertly encapsulates the aesthetic that I feel behind Fred brought me so much joy that I had to listen to it. I enjoyed the playlist so much that it has made its way onto this list for all of you to potentially enjoy as well!

Relaxed Beans

Last, but not least, this playlist called: Relaxed Beans, is a very personal one. This playlist was made for me by my boyfriend to use whenever I need to just feel a little sunshine in my life and relax. I am a person that gets overwhelmed very easily, and I also have a lot of anxiety. Whenever I listen to this song, it brings me a little bit of peace, and it also reminds me of my boyfriend. It always makes me happy, filled with upbeat songs that have such an effortless feeling of optimism.

Overall, the music enclosed in these playlists are some of my favourite songs, and if you listen to them, you’ll get a really good understanding of who I am as a person and what I enjoy. But, that’s not the point of this article. The point is that I want all of you, my readers, to potentially find a new genre of music or a new band that you enjoy just as much as I do. This article is about spreading joy and love with music, and I would love to know that even just one person found something new that they love.
