Trade in Those Old Valentines Day gift ideas in for These Four New Ones

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

Tired of giving those typical Valentines Day gifts to your SO? Well here are four gifts to spice up your Valentines Day this year!

1. Instead if buying those heart shaped boxes of chocolate, buy your SO chocolate covered strawberries.

Let’s be real, when someone opens those boxes of chocolate they head straight for the chocolate with the nuts and caramel, then once those are gone you’re left with those weird flavors like “mint peach cream” and “strawberry coconut nougat”. Skip the “lime nougat” this year and get chocolate covered strawberries instead. You can never go wrong with chocolate covered strawberries, it’s just a perfect of a combination. Beside, who wouldn’t rather receive fresh chocolate covered strawberries instead of that same old boring box of chocolates.

2. Instead of giving bouquet of flowers, give a box of flowers.

Giving flowers in a box give the bouquet a sleek and luxurious look. It makes the flowers look more expensive for your boujee lover.

3. Get the 6ft teddy bear!

Instead of giving that ClichĂ© teddy bear that has that “Happy Valentines Day” heart awkwardly attached to the arm, get a 6ft tall bear instead. Not only is it unique but it provides your SO with a cuddle buddy for those nights you can’t be there to cuddle with them.

4. Don’t just get any Valentines Day card….get one made completely out of wood!

Ditch the dollar tree Valentines Day gift cards this year and get your SO a handmade wooden Valentines day card from websites like Amazon and Etsy. This will show your SO you went the extra mile this year and got something handmade specifically for them.

Have fun celebrating Valentines Day with your new and improved gifts, Collegiettes!
