This year marks the 16th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, and though it may have happened 16 years ago, it’s still and will always be a big heartache for our country. So, today is the day we honor those who lost their lives in the attacks; we will honor those who lost family members and friends; we will honor the heroes who fought and saved, and most importantly we honor those who still continue to serve for our country.
There has been a lot of evil going on in our world lately, between mass shootings, wars, terrorist attacks and all around hate—however, hopefully on this day we will take time to sit back and think about what is truly important.
As Forbes contributor Tood Essig writes, “We have a responsibility to not forget the 75,000, and all those who have and will die as a result of illnesses caused by exposure to the events of 9/11.”
So, love one another, be thankful for what we have and never forget.
